Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, also known as Ashanti was born on October 13 on the 13th of October, 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a US singer as well as songwriter. Ashanti was famous when she was an teen. In 2002, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. The same year she also made an appearance as a guest on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's song, Always On Time and Fat Joe's What's Luv? With Foolish and the track What's Luv being at number one and her first number one hit, she was the only woman to record two songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart top 10 in the United States. Her debut self-titled album was made available through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. on the label in 2002. The Declaration, her fourth studio-album, was released in June of 2008. Hey Baby was released for radio and digital on the 16th of October, 2009. She played Latasha on Army Wives and starred in the film Christmas in the City.
